This policy explains how Scent8 Ltd (“Scent8”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses your personal data when you visit scent8.co.uk, sign up to our emails or buy from us. We are the data controller. We follow the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

Change of business owner

Until 24 October 2026, scent8.co.uk was run by Celeb Extensions Ltd. On 24 October 2026 the Scent8 business, including customer, order and email-subscriber records, transferred to Scent8 Ltd, which has been the data controller from that date. Nothing changes in how your data is used: the same website and service providers continue to run Scent8, and your email preferences carry over. You can unsubscribe or ask us about your data at any time.

What we collect

Order and account details: name, billing and delivery address, email address, phone number (if given), order history, wishlist and account login.
Payment information: handled directly by our payment providers. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details (such as card type and last four digits), never your full card number.
Email sign-up and scent quiz: your email address, your marketing choices and, if you take our scent quiz, your answers and results.
Communications: messages you send us by email or through our contact form.
Reviews: if you leave a review, your name and what you write.
Affiliate referrals: if you arrive through an affiliate link, a cookie records which affiliate referred you.
Technical and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and how you reached our site, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).

How and why we use it

To take payment, dispatch and deliver your order, and handle returns and refunds: performance of a contract.
To send order confirmations, dispatch and delivery updates and answer your questions: performance of a contract / legitimate interests.
To ask you to review your order after delivery: legitimate interests. You can opt out at any time.
To prevent fraud and keep our website secure: legitimate interests.
To keep accounting and tax records: legal obligation.
To understand how our website is used and improve it: your consent, given through our cookie banner.
To send marketing emails: your consent, or, for existing customers, similar products and offers unless you opt out (legitimate interests, as PECR allows). Every email has an unsubscribe link.
To pay affiliate commission on referred orders: legitimate interests.

Who we share it with

We only share your data with providers who help us run Scent8, under contracts that protect it:

Payments: Stripe (cards, Link and Klarna) and PayPal, to take payment and prevent fraud. If you choose Klarna, Klarna may carry out identity and credit checks and acts as a controller for that.
Delivery: Royal Mail, to deliver your parcel and send tracking updates.
Order and stock management: Veeqo, to process orders and manage stock.
Email: Brevo, to send order-related and marketing emails and manage your preferences.
Reviews: CusRev (Customer Reviews for WooCommerce), to send review requests and show reviews.
Affiliate programme: SliceWP, to track referrals.
Website hosting: our web hosting provider, which stores the website and its database.
Analytics and advertising: Google (Google Analytics and Google Merchant Center), only where you have consented to analytics or marketing cookies.
Cookie consent: Complianz, to record your cookie choices.
Professional advisers (such as our accountant), and authorities where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

Some providers (for example Google, Stripe, PayPal and Brevo) may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

How long we keep it

Order and transaction records: 6 years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as tax and company law requires.
Account data: while your account is open.
Marketing data: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep your email address on a suppression list so we do not email you again.
Contact form and email messages: up to 2 years.
Analytics data: up to 14 months.

Your rights

You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use (including objecting to marketing at any time), to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email sales@scent8.co.uk. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
